Crytek announced today the newest remake on their catalog, Crysis Remaster Trilogy.
It feels weird having the entire trilogy remastered now, given how the first game's remaster was released not too long ago. The only explanation I can think of is that the first game was released to gauge interest and was successful.
The trilogy is planned for this fall and will be released for PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch. It is also foward compatible with the new generation of hardware, and contains optimizations specific for those.
What are those optimizations, we don't know. But they probably allow for better and smoother framerate, and maybe a bump in resolution.
When they mention "next generation" we know Xbox Series S|X and PS5 are include, but it is still a mystery if that also includes the rumored Nintendo Switch Pro.
The games included in the bundle are Crysis, Crysis 2 and Crysis 3, as expected. But what is less expected is that you can buy each game individually, if you want to. After all, there is little reason to buy the first game again, if you got it just a few months ago.
You can see the games running ( probably in a high specs PC ), in the official announcement trailer:
