Just a few days ago, the publisher, Curve Digital, started a sale on the Steam platform. The sale goes on until the 3rd of July, so, if you want a game, don't wait around too long.
While Curve Digital doesn't have one of the most recognizable names among the indie publishers currently in the market, they still have a handfull of good quality games on their catalog.
This article will walk you trought some of the good deals present on the sale as well and maybe give you some direction on what to look for.
Multiplayer goodness
Probably what the company is most known for. The Get Together Bundle is the first thing to look. In particular if you have friends to play with.
The bundle costs around $29 and comes with Human: Fall Flat, For the King, Just Die Already and Embr. And the first two are the stars of the show.
The first one is just a hilarious physics based, 3d platforming adventure, that only really works if you have people to play with. While the second is a roguelite turn based RPG that gives a similar feeling to a tabletop RPG campain. This one works solo much better than Human: Fall Flat, but is still much more fun with a group.
This is not the cheapest these games have ever been. Embr was given for free at some point. For the King had better sales in the past and Just Die Already isn't even on sale. But the discount for buying the bundle compensate for part of it.
Finally, be aware the bundle only includes the base game of each title. DLCs must be bought separately.
Smoke and Sacrifice
Arguably, my favorite game of the publisher, Smoke and Sacrifice is an action role-playing/survival game.
The story, although short and a little confusing, is still nice and has a good mysterious vibe to it.
The gameplay is about survival and uncovering the mysteries of this world. Think "Don't Starve", but with lighter survival mechanics. The controls can feel weird at times, but after you get used to them, it is not too bad.
Smoke and Sacrifice is at $3.99 right now. Again, not the lowest is has ever been, but defintely worth the price, in my opinion.
The game also got a physical limited release for the Nintendo Switch, if you prefer that route.
Flame in the Flood
If light survival mechanis aren't for you, and you prefer a hardcore survival, where everything is out to kill you ( except your dog ), then The Flame in the Flood is right up your alley.
Expect to die, a lot. And in a variety of ways. Diseases, hunger, wild animals, hitting your haft. You name it.
The game is at $2.99, which is the best price is has been on Steam and provite tons of replay value. Making it worth the money if you like the style.
Be aware that, contrary to what you might think, this game is very heavy. So, if you have an older computer, it might not run all that well.
10 Seconds Ninja X
10 Seconds Ninja is another contender for my favorite game from the publisher. And you might wonder why, by looking at the screenshots.
The game is very simple and very short as well. Each stage can be completed in 10 seconds or less ( and they have to ). And outside of the classic walking and jumping, all you have is your basic melee attack and up to 3 shurikens.
So, what makes this game so good then? Well, that is how tight the gameplay is. The character moves exactly where you want him to. And throws his shurikens where you want to. It is just amazing.
Also, it is a very good feeling when you start a stage and has no idea how you can complete the level in 10 seconds or less, and slowly builds your way to get all 3 stars.
The game is only $1.19 right now. Yes, it has been $0.99 before, but I can guarantee the extra $0.20 is worth it. Really good game I used to give nothing for, and now is a instant recommendation.
Other titles
Finally, I little recommendation for Steath Bastard 1 and 2 and also for Serial Cleaner.
The first Steath Bastard is very fun. I never played the second, but I imagine it follows suit. The first one has been cheaper before, but not by much.
Serial Cleaner is a game recommended to me a lot. I have never played it either. But I want to mention it here, since it is so recommended. Again, not the cheapest it has been, but close enough.
And there you have it. A little buyers guide for the current Curve Digital Steam sale. Not the best prices, but many interesting games you can get your hands on to increase your ever growing Steam library even more.
