Sonic Central aired on the 27th of this month, and brought with it many announcements both small and big for everyone's favorite hedgehog.
The announcements varied widely and included all sorts of things. From products, like the 30th Sonic anniversary encyclospeedia, containing 30 years of Sonic history, to animated series, to a concert which will be streamed for free for everyone who wants to watch it, to Sonic's guest appearances on various games.
But as interesting as those things may be, the most exciting news to come out of the presentation has to be the new games of the blue blur.
The next Sonic game:
This one has been rumored for a while, and might be called "Sonic Rangers". But the only thing we know for sure is its release window of 2022 and the target platforms, which are PC and all consoles from current and previous generations, including the Nintendo Swich.
Sonic Colors Ultimate
The remake of the original Sonic Colors for the Wii was also announced and looks fantastic. This is one of the most well-received 3D Sonic games in existance, and for good reason.
The game is schedule to release on September 7 for Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on Epic Store.
Also, the Deluxe version of the game gives you player icons from the movie. which is a interesting choice. It will be good for the memes, I guess.
Sonic Origins, for the old school fans
And of course, it isn't a anniversary celebration without a blast from the past. Sonic Origins, a collection of old school Sonic titles was also announced.
Containing Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Sonic and Knuckles (those last 2 being 2 halfs of the same game), Sonic CD, and maybe even more.
We still don't have much information on the title, and its additional features, but I'm sure we will know more soon enough.
Don't forget to visit the 30th Sonic anniversary webpage as well, for details on the other announcements. Personally, I'm really looking foward to the concert. Sonic music is awesome.
